Dreamweaver is yet another excellent application from Adobe earning it the TopTenREVIEWS Bronze Award. This application is the easiest for users who don't have much coding experience. That being said, because of the simplicity there are a few features that are missing from this product to keep it from being the best PHP editor available on the market. However, if you don't want to have your fingers too deep in code or are still trying to learn the basics, this application is the one you want.
Features:
While Dreamweaver is an application with a hundred uses for all kinds of people, as a PHP editor we noticed a few elements missing that could have made this PHP development software application just that much better. Some of the features we really found useful are the built-in browser, unit testing, debugger and code validation checker. Another feature we like to see included with this PHP editor is the auto-complete. The auto-complete with this application takes a little getting used to. When we started typing a code and the box popped up with all of the choices, we thought we could hit enter and it would insert the rest of the code, but it didn't. I will add that as soon as we started typing the end tag it would finish it automatically.
Some notable features that you unfortunately won't find in this PHP editor are a CVS option, task manager, profiling and team collaboration. While these features aren't necessary to make truly fabulous pages, they do add a little something and other PHP toolkits do have them. Though it is missing these features, Dreamweaver is the perfect program if you really aren't sure about the coding. You have the option of working in the code itself or the browser side where it automatically codes whatever you type in. This is extremely useful for those still learning the ins and outs of programming. One of the other limitations to this PHP editor is the price. There is no denying that Adobe software is top of the line, but you pay for it as well. If you are working on a tight budget, you might want to look elsewhere for a PHP editor.Overall, this PHP editor is a good choice for those wishing to avoid hand coding and for those who want the application to do the brunt of the work. However, it does have all the necessary features for those who want to work with the coding and want easy compatibility with all of the other Adobe products.
Ease of Use: 
This PHP editor is set up the same way other Adobe products are: simplicity at its finest. It's designed to be easy to use for any skill level, so we never had any difficulty maneuvering around this application. Something we wished this PHP software application would have incorporated is the bookmark options for marking lines of text and code. Though this isn't included, the search and replace, variable layout, and drag and drop were very valuable as we worked with this PHP editor. This application offers a great way to get introduced into the field of coding because you can type what you want in the preview side and see exactly how it will look on the coded side. The drag and drop feature not only applies for moving code from one place to another but for adding objects and elements such as images, backgrounds and links.
Help & Support: 
The help and support offered by this PHP editor is unlike any other we've seen. Not only is all of the manual information available for searching, but all of the community forum information as well. This information is for all of the versions of Dreamweaver as well as any other Adobe product you can think of. This expanse of knowledge is useful so long as you know exactly what you want to search for and know how to use the filters. Otherwise this information is very overbearing and can be confusing. The information is not organized depending on skill level either. So the first article in the list may be suitable for someone still learning the PHP toolkit, but the next one on the list may require AJAX or a background in complex JavaScript and C++.
